Re: Essentials of the Defensive Snub Revolver
I had the chance several years ago to take a class by Michael de Bethencourt at an IALEFI (International Assoc of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors) Conference in NJ, I believe it was a disarming class.
Mr. de Bethencourt is a very good instructor.

Just a quick review of the course.
Saturday was all "Tactical Folding Knife" training and disarming an attacker. Sunday was "Snub-Nose Revolver". The group of 12 were from various backgrounds, age groups, occupations and skill levels. From my perspective, everyone had a good time and learned some valuable skills.
The Saturday's training was informative, relevant and deadly. The "moves" were easy to master, and to translate into different scenarios. No mega-ninja kung-fu required. No one got hurt. All in all a good day.
Sunday we started by learning safety and the basics (This is a hand gun.) Simple dry-weapon drills, advancing into tactics interspersed with legal aspects of being in a gunfight.
We then used the dry training and went "hot", firing over 150 rounds in the afternoon from different positions, reloading with different methods.
I will attend the class again in the future as a refresher course.
