Arsenal status?
Ok, this is probably a dumb question, but I can't find the answer. The DA's office didn't know. I stopped by the courthouse and the woman at the firearm permits desk wasn't sure and said I'd have to come back another time when the deputy was there.
How many rounds of ammo does one need to possess to be declared as having an "arsenal"?
I'm buying a CZ-52 from J&G and getting the 800 round tin of fmj ammo for lots of fun time shooting with my friends. I've got a M44 carbine as well and was going to order the 300 round tin for it (again for just fun shootin' on the one guy's farm). That'd put me over a 1000 rounds and one of my friends said I better find out if that'd mean I'd have an arsenal.
Help?
Thanks.

Re: Arsenal status?
Last I heard the FBI definition was 7 or more Guns. Nothing about ammo.
Oh yea for pretty much every other gun term the NRA has a nice dictionary setup.

Re: Arsenal status?
If 1,000 rounds meant arsenal there would be alot of people in trouble. And if 7 guns is an arsenal then there are just as many people in trouble. 1,000 rounds is a gooooood week.

Re: Arsenal status?
So, is there really anything bad about having an arsenal (7+ guns) then? If PA doesn't have a 'registry' per se, then how would they know anyway? I'm not there yet, but trust that I'm well on my way

Re: Arsenal status?
Hahaha.....7 guns make an arsenal??
A mere 1,000 rounds makes an arsenal???
Hmmm.........guess I need to be building a bunker. I'm over both by......a lot!
There is no restirction as to how many guns or how many rounds of ammo you keep in your residence.

Re: Arsenal status?
i gotta get my tinfoil hat, they may be watching... what about those of us who collect guns? is there any laws about having an arsenal? when you have a few dozen guns in a few dozen different calibers, having a few thousand rounds isnt exactally unheard of. if you shoot competitively having a few thousand rounds of your match ammo isnt unheard of. If dicks has a sale on 9mm having a few thousand rounds isnt unheard of. Call it an arsenal if ya want, to me its no different than Bill Dance having 100 rods and a couple hundred hooks.
