Do you use your rails?
How many people here actually hang something on their pistol rails? Of all the shooters I know only one person have I ever seen with a light on there. I see alot of nice guns that should be offered without a rail. Esp Sig.

Re: Do you use your rails?
I don't... I use a molded holster, so I can't put anything on regardless, but I really don't need, or want anything on.
I've seen a few people however, a couple with flashlights, some with lasers. Not to many though.III%

Re: Do you use your rails?
I have a factory front laser for my Walther. I don't really care for it much as I would rather just aim down the sights.

Re: Do you use your rails?
Absolutely...how else do you identify targets in the dark when there's no lightswitch available?
On the other hand (haha pun) you could use one of the many support hand light holding techniques.

Re: Do you use your rails?
Not currently. I am debating between putting a light or a lazer on my pistol. Comments welcomed..

Re: Do you use your rails?
i don't know if i'd carry a gun with a light on it; that seems like something i'd do when i was home.

Re: Do you use your rails?
I have a set of CT grips on my p229. I got a special edition without rails (I wouldnt have mounted a laser up there anyways). I think the guns without rails just look so much better. Esp the Sig Elite series with those beautiful wood grips, rails just ruin the lines of what would be a work of art. The only time Ive ever considered using a rail is on my walther p22, and that is just to use it for a scope mount.
sorry got sidetracked. The CT grips IMO are the best laser product going. On mine it is very easy to use the laser or not. no changed in grip or movement just a little more squeeze. I think the guide rod ones have a on/off type operation. Same with the rail ones. I think the CT has all the positives (quick acquisition, deterrent, supreme accuracy) while limiting the negative; giving up your position, loosing proficiency with regular sights...whatever else people list as negatives. Ive had them for about 3 years now, havent needed new batteries yet, hasnt changed zero, I play with it alot, and have put at minimum 5k rounds through the gun. I carry it daily in a variety of holsters or without a holster at all. under the car seat, in a drawer, under the pillow, Its gone on hundreds of quad rides. Its been submerged in icy cold water. Gun and Laser still works like a charm everytime I take it to the range. 2" groups at 25 yards arent abnormal anything outside of 4 inches is very abnormal. Not to mention the rubberized CT grips is much nicer in my hand then the stock sig grips were.

Re: Do you use your rails?
I hate Rails dont use them see no need for them outside of a military or LEO, role.
Yes the SIG Sauer pistols are alot nicer and would be better served to not have a rail. I have a few Pre rail P220's and a P220r and all things equal the Non rail guns are nicer and easier to fit for holsters
