CNN Gun Series airing this week in mid Feb
I wanted to let you know that CNN recently did a gun series The program is called CNN “American Morning,” and it airs between 6am-9am ET.
The gun series that the CNN reporters filmed has FINALLY begun airing Feb16, 2010 on CNN. The story in which Kim Stolfer is interviewed with segments on L&S feature airs WEDNESDAY morning – Feb. 17th.
CNN came and interviewed Kim Stolfer as part of our side on this debate and went to every single community in PA that ILLEGALLY enacted Lost & Stolen ordinances for their side.
CNN asked ALL of them a simple question: How many prosecutions did they have to L&S ordinances?
The answer from all of them was ZERO enforcement with many of the places having this on books for well over a year so much for allegedly need to have tool for their police departments to use to deal with this problem ..........
They filmed about an hour interview of video of Kim Stolfer and most of it because of time restraints usually ends up on the cutting room floor. Kim also supplied the CNN reporters with a thick pile of a documented information on L&S on the effectiveness or lack their of with more gun control laws at stopping criminals. The anti-gun side supplied their emotions and feelings rhetoric for "hope and change" disregarding the fact that the gun control laws they lobbied for in the past are not being enforced, don't work for their stated purposes, yet another "FEEL GOOD" gun control law will do much more than ALL the existing gun control laws that are not enforced already have.
If ALL of the current laws against murder robbery theft and rape are ignored by criminals do you really think another firearm law is REALLY going to do anything constructive?
Does someone really think that just posting a gun free zone sign at the entance going to stop criminals or wackos actions? Historically, seems like they have the opposite effect by attracting them to gun free zones, after all laws only effect the people that obey them.
Why do they think that about passing another so called "common sense" gun control law that criminals will never bother to read or obey it is going to work any better? After all they are criminals, criminals by definition break laws to much common sense for anti-gun people to seem to grasp.
Here is the dark side with Unintended Consequences of just enacting more gun control laws that is seldom spoke of. All gun owners are forced to learn and try to abided all of the complex firearm laws just so that we don't break a law that was created for criminal intent. Worse yet we get made into criminals when we just violated the “letter of the law” without have any criminal intentions because of a poorly worded gun control law that has no common sense.
Worse yet, when someone trusted in authority that personal agenda doesn’t like firearms, freedoms & the protection from the lawless criminals that firearm provide or just simply don’t like our constitution rights as written and they want to persecute gun owners because they can using gun control laws to achieve their goals of civilian disarmament just like the king tried with the red coats back in April 1775 to rule over US.
When the language of law is not crystal clear, you are left with the expense of hiring a lawyer, left just hoping that the judge and DA will exercise “common sense”, be “reasonable” and “exercise fairness” to save you from poorly worded gun control laws without you having any criminal intent.
Why is the mandatory five year additional sentence that targets repeat offender recidivist criminals that gun owners in PA lobbied for seldom ever used to lock up the bad guys?
Also the anti gun groups did nothing to support or help pass this laws that goes directly after repeat criminals that uses guns in crimes. Why not?
They ONLY do (inanimate objects) gun control and do nothing to address criminal control like gun owners and many fine state legislators try to do as well as balance the need for public safety against our Constitutional rights by crafting targeted laws directly against criminal intentions.
UFA was created for the stated purpose as additional means to punish criminals with more jail time, why is it now the gun charges are mostly just used as a deal / plea barging tool and not aggressively prosecuted to lock up the bad guys for max jail time for the safety of the public?
Read this proof of this statement with the facts and numbers.

The story will also likely re-air in the afternoon on CNN on Wednesday / Thursday and it will be posted on CNN.com by mid-day Wednesday/ Thursday. I will post the link to the CNN online version once it’s posted.
BTW, in case you are interested in seeing the FIRST “ATF: On the Border” piece in our three-part series (the second piece, “Gun Shops: On the Front Lines” will air Tues. AM)… here’s the CNN online link to today’s piece if you want to take a look:
There is a blue-colored “Watch the Gun Trail part one” link to today’s video piece within the text version there.

Of course they have zero enforcement. Because they KNOW the law is invalid.
Any mission, any conditions, any foe at any range.
Twice the mayhem, triple the force.
Ten times the action, total hardcore.

It's CNN though. So expect them to spin it to be VERY anti-gun.

Did I miss something? The link had nothing to do with lost or stolen in PA, it talked about the Mexican thing. Or is the PA thing deeper in the show?

Re: CNN Gun Series airing this week in mid Feb
I think the correct link is the following: http://www.cnn.com/video/?/video/cri....law.fight.cnn. It should start playing a 3-minute video called ‘Lost or stolen’ gun law fight. CNN’s video interface is kind of user unfriendly, but hopefully that link will work.
P.S.: Did anyone else enjoy the fantastic irony of the “left New York owing someone a lot of money and eventually they are going to find me” (probably by watching CNN) guy?Last edited by JCWohlschlag; February 16th, 2010 at 07:55 PM.

Re: CNN Gun Series airing this week in mid Feb
Just watched part 2 of a mini version of the show they're promoting @ 6am on "American Morning" entitled...The Iron PipeLine.
Had a gun shop in Georgia that allowed CNN to film transactions for one full day...to include an "Russian Imigrant" ( didn't say if he had a green card or student visa ) who in one part of their 'coverage' has the owner of the shop ask the guy why he was purchasing a firearm...Russky sez: Uh, you wanna know the truth...owner sez: yea...Russky sez: I owe a guy alot of money and I want to be prepared if he comes looking for me. Owner: laughs
WTF ?!
Then CNN states that BATFE claims Georgia is the leading source of straw purchase firearms making their way up the 95 corridor ( Iron PipeLine ) to states up north with more restrictive gun laws, where the buyers sell the guns for a profit. WHAT ?!...if the purchaser shows ID...passes the background check under his name...the firearm is registered to the buyer...and then he sells it to a criminal type up north...HTH ( how the hell ) does he explain the gun winding up used in a crime?
Later on in the short piece...they claim the background check comes back with a 'delay'...but the Russky comes back the next day and walks out with the gun ( which, BION{ believe it or not }...looks like a Makarov ). And then the owner sez: Yea, it's tuff being on the front line of this battle. AYSM ?
{ are you shittin' me? ).

Kim Stolfer interview about PA Lost & Stolen ordinances the story will air on CNN’s “American Morning” program Feb 17, 2010 at 7:24amET and 8:24amET – as of now. That’s as specific as it ever gets at CNN (but give CNN a 10 minute “approximate” window to be safe)

Anyone who expects to get a fair shake from CNN or any of these elitist media outfits probably also believes in the tooth fairy.
I'm always impressed by pro 2nd amendment advocates who hopelessly try to achieve some sort informational balance. These good people honestly attempt to educate the anti-gun opposition when there is absolutely no interest in facts that contradict preordained dogma. Even if the ground level reporters make a symbolic attempt at objectivity, sooner or later the production editors will cut the story to fit the standard doctrine.
