Best way to beable to carry in Ohio?
I've got a PA permit, and the state i'm most concerned with not being able to carry in is Ohio, living in SW PA i'm about 35min from the border so i've got friends there and such.. what is your recommendation on what state to go threw? I can't find anything on Ohio non-resident permits on their attorney generals website, just a bunch of people saying how ridiculous the process is, the only thing i'm thinking would be nice is you can carry in SC if you have an OH license and as far as I can tell you dont get that with FL,UT, or VA...
Also what are the best classes to take for those states, besides the Utah class because I'd go threw TonyF's obviously, but maybe the fire institute offers classes for the other states, or maybe thats accepted by some.
Thanks for your help..

Re: Best way to beable to carry in Ohio?
Get a FL or UT license.. there is no OH non-resident license...
Unless you own land in SC, you cant carry there no matter what license you have if you are a PA resident. SC only honors resident licenses. SC landowners that are residents of other states may get the only non-resident license that SC issues. Glovebox and console transporting is legal without a license in SC.Last edited by knight0334; August 28th, 2007 at 04:02 PM.

i would recommend the FL, last i heard UT is taking close to 100+ days to process Non-resident request. FL from what i have heard is a little bit more $$$ but faster on the processing

any downside to VA over FL? VA has to do it within 45days and they will send you a packet with everything you need

Re: Best way to beable to carry in Ohio?
compare the states that you get recip. with on the Va permit vs Fl, and decide if the extra wait time for florida is worth it, all in all if ohio is your only concern i would go with Va, around the same cost, but you are correct, they must issue within 45 days (usually a lot sooner) where as florida has 90 days, and seem to use every bit of it, personally i have Fl for the few extra states but it also took 74 days to get........

I know FL requires an NRA Basic Pistol certificate.
