Re: Monthly PAFOA Schmooze and Nosh for NEPA
LOL No.
You must have skipped a few posts. They (the Pioneer and Billy's) are actually about 10 miles apart or so (give or take), but the SGL range is another couple miles added to that.
My point was - Mt Pocono was selected because it's (figuratively) 'around the corner' from the SGL and there is a Wally World (and 'stuff') right there. Moving the 'eating' portion back to Tannersville (depending on where you are coming from, and if you were shooting) might add a couple dozen miles onto the trip. That's all.
Again, if there is no objections - I'm cool with all that.

Re: Monthly PAFOA Schmooze and Nosh for NEPA
last time i ate in the pioneer diner was about 6 yrs ago. i had eggs over easy, bacon, toast and pancakes than spent the rest of the day burning the candle at both ends. that was 6 yrs ago, though. i think i'd give them another chance. it's only 5 mins from my house, too, so thats a bonus. billy's is a little further, but i eat there more often.

Re: Monthly PAFOA Schmooze and Nosh for NEPA
I forget who suggested the Pioneer Diner and in which thread (there are three or four), but I could have sworn that the suggestion came with some positive praise.
For some reason, I think it was Tootie's suggestion - but I could be misremembering that.
Personally, so far - I've only eaten one meal in Tannersville my whole life, and that was with some of yous guys.
Same same for Mt Pocono.

It makes sense to keep it closer to Mt Pocono.

Re: Monthly PAFOA Schmooze and Nosh for NEPA
That's still 'on the table', but there are two 'suggestions' (to your one) to move the dining portion back to Billy's so far.
We've got a few days before I think phone calls and 'reservations' are in order - so, the whole thing is still flexible. Besides, it is possible (though I don't see how) some people might have missed this thread altogether.
...I mean, doesn't everyone logon to check my Post History religiously every day??

I don't know if jcabin mentioned Billy's, or Bailey's, but I think he said Bailey's. It's less than a mile from Perkins. They can do private parties from 15-75 people, or just a casual lunch. Looks like a really nice place. Theres a bunch of info on their webpage.

I sent an e-mail to some friends to get as many restaurant names as I can in that area.Que sera, Sera

Re: Monthly PAFOA Schmooze and Nosh for NEPA
bailey's is nice, but expensive. i won't have any$ left for ammo. i'd rather eat pancakes and shoot my 45and such, than eat steak and lobster and shoot my 22's. but that's just me. they got a pretty good salad bar there.
