Default Kahr PM9 vs. Glock 26

I'm turning 21 in less than 2 months and I'm planning on getting my CCW permit.

    I'm set on getting a 9mm but I haven't decided between the Kahr or a Glock 26.

I like the glock but it seems bigger than the Kahr.

    Any suggestions?

I have both a Kahr PM9 and a Glock 27 which as Im sure you know is identical in size to the 26. The Kahr is much easier to conceal than the Glock. It is thinner since it is only single stack and shorter as well. The Kahr can easily be carried in a pocket with a DeSantis Nemesis holster while the Glock may be a bit too fat for that. That said, the G26 disappears owb or iwb with the right holster though. The Glock is just big enough to be a decent range gun and has good capacity. The Kahrs accuracy at longer distances is not that great and capacity is only 7 or 8 rounds. IMO if its only for a ccw consider the Kahr but if its for ccw, range and hd, go Glock.

Personnel decision concealability vs capacity. Both are good guns.

License to Carry Firearms... not a CCW in pennsylvania. yes it matters, please do some research around the site to see that the LTCF means a lot more.

The Kahr and the Glock are both good choices. My EDC is a Glock 26, and I would recommend it over the Kahr if it fits your hand nicely. Price, capacity, accuracy and reliability lean toward the 26 as well.

I own the PM9 and have shot the G26. To me they're slightly different tools. I believe Bipro nailed it. If you're going to have 1 gun, meaning it may be you primary home defense weapon, range piece and carry gun, then I'd recommend getting the Glock.

If I was l was just learning to shoot and was going to practice with only this one gun a lot, I'd get the Glock.

If you had other pistols, and wanted a really nice, slim, deep concealment 9mm, then I'd suggest the Kahr.

If the slimness of the Kahr attracts you, they make slightly larger but still concealable pistols like the P9 or CW9.

    G26.

Many reasons... I especially agree with the one where if you had other larger pistols already and just wanted a slimmer pistol in 9mm for carry then the Kahr might be a good choice. But you could get a Kel-Tec PF-9 for 1/3rd the cost of that that would do the same thing.

Outside of that situation. Glock 26 all the way. It's fatter, and a little heavier but is not a burden to carry. Hell I've walked around with one tucked in the back of my waist band and forgot it was there after a couple hours.

Also; can you stuff a 33rd magazine in a Kahr?
