i wonder when the atf is going to start regulating ear plugs. they are most definitely sound supressors.
Don't take anything I say seriously, unless I say seriously. Seriously.

Along those same lines, you are not supposed to have the parts in your possession to build an SBR even though you can't do anything with it until assembled. I inquired about this while so many parts were on backorder and the Form1's were taking forever to receive. I asked the BATF via e-mail if I would be in trouble if I ordered a <16" upper but didn't assemble it until I got the stamp. I was told that I could not have them in my possession.

That got me wondering about the GSGs. If someone had a GSG carbine and a GSG pistol, technically they have the parts in their possession to make the pistol an SBR <gasp>. Dumb, huh?

I think I'm going to convince my wife to file a criminal complaint and a law suit against every male member of the ATF. After all, they have all the necessary equipment, and the ability to be rapists. You know, just being in possession of the parts makes one guilty, right?
BTW, the female agents are all prostitutes, for the same reasons.

I got one of these SD's, I guess I will be sending in my fake suppressor! I don't get how this is a real can, but I can imagine how you could make it ito a ineffective one......

I wish Tactical Solutions, or someone would make a one piece barrel/shroud like they do for the 10/22! (The SBX, I even wrote 'em and asked, but no luck!) This pint sized SD would be a blast with a real .22 can, screwed into the barrel! If the barrels overall lenght is 16" there woud be no need to SBR it! ( I mentioned this on ARF.com a while back but the consences was that it was too much trouble/Risk!)

I wonder if the sbx could be turned down to fit the GSG? I would consider making something like it myself, but I would be worried that ATF would go nuts! I.E..... You just built an ILLEGAL silencer.........Errrrr.... to hold your LEGAL silencer............ GO FIGURE!

I would think that would work fine fred. If they ask, tell them the shroud is a permanantly affixed flash hider.

You would still need to machine the gas ports in the barrel to achieve suppresion, just like a real SD. Slipping a can over the barrel to keep the look will not do much for noise if the end of your barrel is at the end of your can.
You would prob still have to cut the barrel and make a can that can be pinnined or welded on and still look "stock"......along with your Form 1 and $200, or cut and thread and add another $200 for the SBR.
It would be pretty slick if you built one though.
I dont shoot my PK w/o my can on it anymore. Just not the same with out it.

You have to remember that as of May 86 - when the Republican administration was asleep at the wheel - the BATF was allowed to determine that threaded adapters for 2-liter bottles were suddenly in and of themselves: suppressors.

Same with threaded empty tubing of misc lengths, "wipes", and, endcaps for tubing.

Prior to this, you could buy all these parts.

The ATF is outta freakin control.

Unbelievable, I mean even in most Eueopean counrtries you can walk into any Gun Store put down your money on trhe countrer and Walk out with a "silencer" in a bag. Heck in some countrries like France if you shoot your gun in your backyard without a SLIENCER ATTACHED YOU CAN BE FINED not for shooting in your yard but for not having a silencer. Even police state England you can small game hunt with a silencer attached to your Gun
