    xd 45 compact?

dont forget you can get the 30 round glock mag extensions now (courtesy of the creators of the KRISS V). I am not really sure what your definition of hi-cap is though. To me, its anything over 10 in the mag, but to each his own.

That's not really a big deal with the right holster and belt. My 1911 is close to three pounds when it's loaded. I don't even notice that I'm carrying it after I've been wearing it for a few minutes.

Everyone talks XD's and i can respect the HS2000 platform but i have shot one and wasn't terribly impressed never the compact though. the only .45 i have now is a Kimber pro carry II (lg) and i cant take it to work for fear of it being heisted (crummy neighborhood)

I'd advise against Para. I have one and have had nothing but problems with it. Both the gun and the hi-cap magazines.

I tried to find the threads I posted on here about it... but there were too many of my posts to filter through. I have a custom para 1911 hi-cap as part of a group order. I'll try to summarize the problems I've had in bullet points:

-Over six months late finishing the order (past the original 8 months, I believe, they originally projected), with no courtesy calls or emails to let us know any updates.
-The finish had a small scratch when I got it
-It stovepipes rounds at least once per magazine
-A round was jammed in the chamber. I had to get a gunsmith to get it out.
    -Many FTFs
-The magazine followers stick on all five magazines that came with it
-The supposedly 'match trigger' is creepy and worse than my Colt WWII M1911 repro
-Most of the guys who ordered in the group order had similar problems.
-One guy had a burr that stuck out almost a quarter inch and was sharp and was never caught by their (non-existent, I would guess) quality control
-Their customer service was marginal at best. I felt like I was bothering them
