My relative has ALOT of handguns.....
My relative has alot of guns. Many of which are handguns. Relative got most of them back in the "good old days" when you could just drive around to yard sales, and cash and carry them.
Now that big brother is looking over our shoulders, these guns are only worth something if my relative can resell them. Relative is afraid to do anything with these guns because of the fear that the guns will be seized if the history comes up questionable during resale.
I advised relative that, at this point, the guns just gotta go through a check, and if they are taken, they are taken.
Anyone have any input on this?
What is the easiest way to check multiple guns for possible sale?
Is it even legal to own these guns now?

Re: My relative has ALOT of handguns.....
Why wouldn't it be okay to sell them?
As long as all of the pistols go through an FFL for a resale to a quailifed individual there is no chance of you relative getting in trouble.
Unless the SN's are filed off that's a different story
And whats this "Check" you speak of? If you mean the PSP database, the database itself is illegal. The PSP doesn't need to know what you do with your pistols aslong as you sell them legally.

Can you get a list? I'm sure many of us would be more than happy to purchase one or a dozen.

Re: My relative has ALOT of handguns.....
That is kind of my BIG question. There is no history of where they were bought. Or who they were bought from. Everything my relative buys is at a very good price, or relative does not buy. Some of you have insinuated that a stolen weapon will not be redflagged? I have no idea if any of these are hot. Some of them were bought 50 yrs ago.

Re: My relative has ALOT of handguns.....
whats it like 7 years? i never knew they removed it from the data base after so long. i had a pistol stolen in lower merion about 10 years ago, i used to get a call from the pd every couple of years just to see if i had found my gun.
haven't heard from them in about three years. so maybe the gun is deleted from the data base?FJB
