Default Some opinions please on my next gun in .40

Ok, so I traded in my G23 for a used but never fired G30SF because at the time I really wanted a .45 and I am happy with that deal. However, my ammo cache still has some .40 FMJ and 40 rounds of Hydrashoks so now the wheels are turning and I've convinced myself I guess I gotta buy another gun because that ammo isn't gonna shoot itself, right??? Sounds reasonable to me

So I'm thinking of either another glock 23, a glock 27, or........a sigma. Don't laugh. I've read reviews on the sigma and other than the occasional complaint about the trigger, they sound like rock solid guns and price can't be beat. My wife is already busting my balls and "can't believe I'm talking about getting another gun" so the sigma's price is motivating. A sig 229 would be nice too but they just are too expensive. I don't know, its 4:30am and I'm at work and I've got guns on the brain...

I shot an xdm before and wasn't crazy about it. I'm pretty much a glock guy, its what I know and what I'm comfy with. The fact I'm considering a sigma is a surprise. I'm definitely open to trying out an xd 40 thought and forming an opinion.

Compact is as big as I'll go with the glock platform, but thanks for the tip.

You can find a used Sig P239 for around $400 to $450 if you look around. I've shot and owned a lot of guns in .40 and none of them have handled the snap of a .40 as well as a P239 with Hogue grips.

One gun that comes in .40 that I have not shot, but have heard and read only good thing about is the FNH-40. You get one for around $400 (or less).

for $600 (or less) you can get a CPO or used Sig226 or 229. imo nothing handles to 40S&W round better - and that includes the G23, G27, XD40 Service, XD40SC, M&P, Sigma, Sig239, CZ compact, and Taurus PT100 (40S&W pistols i have shot or owned)

i haven't shot a 239 wih Hogues but i shot one without and it was too much round for the pistol. considering the difference in grip width between a 239 and a 229 i think the 229 is a lot more bang for the buck capacity for the size, etc.

shoot them first and decide for yourself

THe FNP in .40 is one heck of a smooth gun, i own Sig 229, smith&wesson 410s, FNP 40, Sigma .40 and i must say that the FNP is the smoothest in terms of recoil.
