Default Could you be paid off for a gun ban?

    Hypothetical Question/Scenario.

A gun ban in enacted. Although the ban allows you as an individual to legally own one Shotgun. But if you get married your family may have 2 shotguns.

To make the gun ban easier the government hands out checks to gun owners. They will pay you 10 Million Dollars to turn in all of your guns except for what you're allowed.

I chose a ridiculous amount of money to avoid the "my guns are worth more than that" remarks. Though I guess its possible some of you could have 10 million dollars worth of firearms. Also it is a huge amount of money that may possibly sway opinions.

If you refuse to turn in your weapons you obviously don't receive the money and you are to serve a minimum of 5 years in prison for owning what are now illegal firearms.(once again these are hypothetical laws)

You would not necessarily be giving up you 2A rights as you are allowed a shotgun.

    What would you do? Why?

I would take their money, go down to Pittsburgh or Philly and buy guns outta the back of a van, then use a few million to hire some lawyers to bring suit against the state.
If all else failed, then I would move to Montana with my new guns and a couple of mil.

I've had a few opportunities in my life to have substantial money.
Although I had a small taste of it when a bit younger I ultimately decided that I was happier when I was "poor".

Money is fleeting and although it's true that every man has his price mine would NEVER be through any government bargain. Those that sell their souls for $ are never satisfied and the author of the deal can never be trusted because they’re never satisfied.
Ask Native Americans how their deals worked out with Uncle Sam.

i'd take the money, move to Mexico, use the money to buy a private compound, and buy a few million dollars worth of military grade firearms and ordnance, and help start the underground movement to overthrow the corrupt government of the United American Empire.

    viva la revolucion!

Never been "happier poor." Happier middle class. When I had more money, my wife just spent more.

I don't like shotguns. This deal wouldn't do me any good. I'd pack up and move to Switzerland.

Ok, then what's to stop them from coming and taking your shitty worthless shotgun after they've "bought" all your good stuff? No thanks, they can SMD.
