Have you heard of Hammett bullets?
Does anyone here know anything about Hammett bullets and where to get them.
I've searched PAFOA and the Internet in general but couldn't find anything more than a few brief references to loads using Hammett bullets, I wasn't able to find a source of specific information or a source to buy them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA

My understanding is they make small caliber bullets. I don't believe they have a web site.Might try 17 caliber forums. Bruce

If you use the Dogpile search engine for Hammett bullets you will find a web site listing of 17 cal. bullet makers. Hammett is listed with a phone number 318-728-2019.

Re: Have you heard of Hammett bullets?
Thanks.
I called that number, it's a drilling company in Louisiana owned by Mr. Hammett himself. Once upon a time they made bullets as a sideline but he said the materials got too expensive and they had to quit because they were losing money.
He is a very pleasant person and seems to be quite knowledgeable about bullets, we had a very nice chat.
They did make .17, .224 and .243 bullets but not any more.

Re: Have you heard of Hammett bullets?
mauser--I just joined this Board and noticed you were asking about Hammett bullet information. I used to order bullets from him, but like one of the posters mentioned above, I was sure I had heard he wasn't making bullets any longer. I shot several thousand of his .172 caliber bullets. I still have about 500 left, but that won't last long in the prairie dog towns. I guess I better find another bullet to use.
