    Default Getting a New Toy

I am in the market for a new pistol in the next month. For the last ten year I have used a Glock 26 as my daily concealed carry piece. In the G26 ,I use a Glock 19 magazine with a sleeve to compensate for the grip.Prior to that I used a G17. I am looking into a Kimber 1911. I have two question. What is the grip difference between a Kimber Ultra and Kimber Pro , if any .The other question has anyone purchase a firearm from King Shooting Supply in K of P or Lowes Certified guns in Sellarsville. These are 2 Kimber dealers in my area. Any insight will be helpful.

I like Kings, never been to the other though. There are always a lot of 1911's in there to fondle, Roger and his staff are pretty knowledgeable about the 1911 platform as well...

As far as I understand, Kimber's "Custom" is basically a government model, full size frame and slide, 5" barrel; "Pro" is the commander's model, full size frame and grip, 4" barrle; and their "Ultra" is the officer's model, with a smaller frame, and 3" barrel.

The grip of an Ultra is shorter than a Pro, while the Custom and the Pro both have full-size frame and grip.
