OAL difference between factory loaded 9mm FMJ
I was looking at some of the 9mm ammo I've stockpiled for my upcoming XDM purchase and I noticed something different about the Remington ammo I bought.
Turns out it's loaded to a shorter length than either the Federal or the Winchester White Box I have. All of them are 115gr FMJs but the Remington is obviously shorter length than the others. Anyone know why there would be such a big difference in the length of the loaded rounds?

Re: OAL difference between factory loaded 9mm FMJ
Different manufacturers use different powders for the same projectile. Some powders work better with a shorter OAL, others work better with a longer OAL. Suffice it to say that the manufacturers do extensive testing to find the best powder/projectile/OAL combo for the greatest number of guns.
