Default School suspends a 13 year old boy for...

Chandler school officials have suspended a 13-year-old boy for sketching a picture that resembled a gun, saying it posed a threat to classmates.

But parents of the Payne Junior High School student said the drawing was a harmless doodle of a fake laser, and school officials overreacted.

    Absolutely ridiculous.

The only threat to students is the threat posed by the school officials!

this does have some basis of legitimacy to it..

I mean, paper is very dangerous and the only source of paper cuts.

Thanks God he didnt draw a .50 BMG rifle.. they would have had to evacuate the whole county.

Since you know they can shoot down planes and derail trains and stuff.

EDIT: With it's heat-seeking capabilities (forgot that part)

My wife is a school teacher, and I can say that I am for a zero tolerance policy of actual guns in school or actual threats of guns in school. Let's face it, the days of going small game hunting after school and leaving a shotgun in the truck all day are over, but this story was rediculous. I could almost understand if the school had a policy stating that the kids may not draw or speak of guns, although I would not agree with that, if the policy was broken then so be it. Crazy

As gun owners we joke or see the absolute stupidity in things like this. most of us are level headed people who can reason. The real problem is that in this country the people are so brainwashed/fooled/lied to/suckered into/taken advantage of/ect that they can not reason or see truth.

The more I see people with this mindset the more I worry about the future. How can a grown adult be so taken advantage of that he/she can not distinguish truth?

Now think of how they compared columbine with a gun picture.

With citizens this stupid this country has absolutly no chance to advance or lead the free world. As we can see how things are going I am not wrong.

    Hey Lougotzz,

You've hit the nail right on the head! And I speak from experience being that I used to live in a very liberal minded state (Hawaii), and for many, many years I was actually one of those people whom you described.

A friend of mine who lives in Mesa said that there are a lot of Democrats/liberals/progressives/radicals who live there.

He met with school officials and persuaded them to shorten his son's suspension from 5 days to 3.
LOL, when I was in highschool, I got 3 days suspension for beating the living snot out of this punk who sucker punched me in class.

I gave him a gigantic lip, a broken nose and a purple eye.

    How times change...

Thumbs up Re: School suspends a 13 year old boy for...

Well, it's about time now if we can only get all the pictures of guns out of the text books. Next we can outlaw pictures of swords then the bow and arrow.
