Default Got my first one! A few ?'s

After a lot of thought on which one to get I picked up a Remington 870 Police Magnum today.
I want to know if I can add a bayonet and a light to it. I read the aftermarket for the 870's wasn't big and a quick search on Gunbroker confirmed that.

If any of you can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
I'm not looking to tart it up too much just the 2 I mentioned above.

And feel free to throw out any info on this model or suggestions on it you may have.

Also what is good HD round?

A bayonet? Doesn't that kind of defeat the advantage of having a short barrel?

Suggesting a good HD round is like discussing what is better: .45 or 9mm

I prefer buckshot of the reduced recoil type. Most large ammo makers make reduced recoil HD rounds.

You can never have enough horsepower or ammunition.

    .
No not really, IMHO a shotgun for HD is for CQC as is a bayonet. I can't that much difference between a 18" bbl and say a 26"

We all know .45 is better.

I bought some 00 2 3/4"Buck but since I'm completely ignorant to shotguns I wasn't sure there is something better, say 000 or some kind of tactical round

Weld a bayonet lug to it or figure out how to clamp on on ...and on the magazine screw end make it so it will accept a standard m9 bayonet
