"scuffed" up bullet casing.
So I was checking out the bullets in my magazine. I took notice to the bullet on the top. I don't know because it's been taken out and put in one too many times. There is like a groove on it. Should that be ok to still leave there? I'd hate to have to throw out a bullet I use for carry.

it is generally not good to chamber and re-chamber the same round.
What I do, is alternate the chambered round with others in the same mag.==============
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”
~Samuel Adams

Cartridge. The bullet is just the projectile. The cartridge consists of case, powder, primer, and bullet.
Unless it is visibly shorter than the pristine cartridges, I wouldn't worry about it.
