Default New to PA, a reffuge from NY, need to find a range

I'm new in PA, having escaped the anti-gun kingdom of NY, and need to find somewhere to shoot! I live in Mountville, and have looked at the Columbia range, and while it's impressive, it's rules put me right back into NY (acctually less, since NY lets ya have 10 rounds).

I shoot rifle, and pistol, and not just a guy that goes to waste ammo shooting fast, but I shoot alot when I can; but geez, I can't even fill a mag for my 1911 at the Columbia place!

If anyone could point me in the direction of a decent range, I would be grateful.

And, as you can see, I can't spell.....lol

mount joy is a good range. only problems i have with the club are no OC, they dont really care for CC. and cant do any rapid fire. also no siloette targets. other than that its a nice range. 25/50/100/200 yd range. indoor pistol, indoor archery, outdoor archery 3d walk through, and a soon to be finished indoor airgun range. www.mountjoysportsmen.com

I have heard nothing but good things about Manheim Sportsmans Assoc. as a friend of mine was once a member there and I was there one time to sight in a rifle. They have a ventilated indoor pistol range and outdoor rifle range out to 200yds. I frequent the French Creek State game lands for a free range rather often during the warmer months. A few people I know in the area also shoot at New Holland sportmans range and they all say it is a great range too, but they are very strict about range rules which I find very comforting in the fact that you know there isn't going to be some dumb uninstructed kid standing behind you with a gun pointed at your back! Anyway if you want to go to a range with a few of us locals PM me. We go once in a while, normally like I said in the warmer months and we are trying to get out soon so shoot me a PM!

sounds like Columbia took their rules right from the public ranges on the game lands...plus that place is expensive to join.
