Act 235
Ladies and Gentlemen I'm brand new to the forum tonight having just registered. I live in York County, Pennsylvania and I'm greatly interested in finding a state certified instructor for Act 235 that would be relatively close to my neck of the woods.
If anyone can make suggestions I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

Re: Act 235
John, do you have this cert and if so what school did you attend?
Looks like around $700 to get certed.
Quote from Shield Training
"$80.25 is the app / background fee. PSP provides cards. In fact the
majority of the barracks went to the electric years ago so no cards needed.
Just follow the directions laid out on our site.
$30 fee is a money order that we have to attach to your grade sheet and you
just need to provide that by the final class day. It's your fee to get the
card printed.
Class is $450 for firearms, $400 for non-firearms certification."
I thing and eye exam and Psych test must also be done. I miss anything?Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.

Re: Act 235
As for a Psych test, I found someone who did it for $150 and if you have medical insurance, you can get a physical done with out paying a whole lot.
In total, after all the fee's and the cost of the course, I think I paid a total of around $550 (that was 3 years ago, in Lehigh County).
Another thing........
Now a days, if you do not have the acceptance letter from the PSP when class starts, they will not let you take the course, some places wont even let you sign up for the course with out the letter.
I would try and make sure that you have the letter before signing up for the course. It would suck if you sign up for the course and can't take it because you have not received your letter yet.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Re: Act 235
I think it varies from school to school or instructor to instructor.
I was looking to see if CCAC had anything available but they did not.
Looks like the 80.25 app fee and $30 may be standard costs.
The $450 is the variable. $150 seems to be going rate for Psych test
The physical, eyesight, hearing tests may cost if you already had your primary care physical within a time frame where it will not be covered for something like this.
So you might be more than $700 if you have to pay for the physical items.Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.
