Will these charges affect my LTCF?
So heres deal, i wont go into details, but, i got into an accident, i hit a tree. When the cops showed up, they questioned me about another accident in which someone had supposedly left the scene of. I told the officer that i wasnt involved in any other accidents that night.
Long story short i'm being charged with driving without a license and a charge of leaving the scene of an accident. The Driving without a license is just a monetary fine/citation, and the leaving the scene of an accident is a M3 (Misdameanor of the 3rd degree).
So, i'm going to be going through the ARD to get my charged expunged.
I have no criminal record, beyond a disorderly conduct way back before 2005, and there was no drugs, alcohol, or anything like that involved in any of my run ins with the law. My attorney informed me the best route would be to just do the ARD and get it all over with.
Now, my question to you guys is, how is this going to effect my LTCF and my PICS checks? I understand as of right now, i would be denied from the PICS check because i have pending charges. But, what about after all the dust settles and my record is expunged?
But will any of these charges affect my LTCF?
Any help would be greatly appreciated."A peaceful mind generates power"

Re: Will these charges affect my LTCF?
I dont understand, if you truly were'nt involved in the other accident thats a hit and run , why in the world would you voluntarily take ARD for something you didnt do ? Especially considering your concerns about how it will effect your LTCF.IIRC, I've seen Phil ( GL001 ) post more then once that expungements arent exactly " sure things ". What evidence do the cops have to charge you with hit and run ? This just doesnt make any sense without more information.
I just cant understand taking the easy way out, even if it was recommended by my attorney and pleading to something I was innocent of , just because its "easier " .Si vis pacem, para bellum

Re: Will these charges affect my LTCF?
Yeah why the hell would you take the hit for something you didn't do? They have to prove that you did it, not the other way around.

Did you ask your lawyer? Seems like that is where I would go for legal advice, but that's me. I cannot answer your questions, but I wish you luck in this endeavor.

Re: Will these charges affect my LTCF?
Aside from "dont take the fall", No your LTCF eligibility will still be valid. With ARD and getting your record expunged that will do, and you can go on your way..... with a pistol in your pants
