S&W 642
I have found that my S&W 642 is feeling tight when I close the chamber. It does not feel tight all of the time, just once in a while. Is this normal? I have around 300 rounds through it.

I'm not sure what you mean here. Is the cylinder rubbing on the barrel when you close it? The crane isn't loose, is it?

Not sure from the description of exactly what is happening, but have you cleaned the gun after the 300 rds?

Re: S&W 642
I have the same problem with mine if I shoot a couple hundred rounds through it without cleaning it. Once I clean it, it becomes once again flawless in operation.

Take it to John Robinson at Classic Pistol (9-5 Mon thru Fri), he is an excellent revolversmith. I am sure he can diagnose a problem (if one exists) and fix if necessary at a very reasonable price.

Re: S&W 642
What he said. Need better description. Also, probably not uber-relevant but when I have Sellier & Belliot .38 FMJ rnds loaded I find that the cylinder locks up very tight and the cylinder catches on the frame when I'm "spinning" to load it. ( I mean turning it, not quasi-cheesy tv slam-spin. I like my Smith & don't wanna damage it). Seems the case rims are a tad larger than American ammo I've used.....
My $0.02....Yeah, I've got change...Check my feedback: https://forum.pafoa.org/showthread.php?t=42671

Your ejector rod may be loose. the threads tighten by turning to the left. the opposite of your normal threads.
