Default looking for a scope for my AK-47

Can any one suggest what kind of scope I should get for my AK-47.

Nothing real expensive, just something good for 200 yards.

I know some of you don't like the WASR 10, but that's what it is.

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
I'm in the same boat....I already have the side rail mount on my Saiga from the factory, so I just need the scope mount & scope.

I only need to go out to 100yds (that's the longest my range has). I was actually looking at the scopes at Walmart...but I forget the name of them. I bought one for ".22LR rimfire" for my 10/22 and it has done perfectly fine! I saw that they have one for rifle/shotgun as well for about $69 that has the military reticle. Might be the way to go on a budget...

    Thanks Toxicodendron11 and Quadzilla

I was on cheaper than dirt's web site and saw some nice options
but there were a lot of reviews about the different mounts that some
people did not like and some people did.

I'm a member at classic pistol and may ask Bob ( owner ) and John ( gunsmith )
what they can do, maybe a side mount. and then look for a scope after that.

Whatever scope you decide on...get a side mount. The top cover mounts are useless*

*unless your crazy and find a way to attach it via a hinge, like some of the newer Russian ones on Saiga-12EXP-01s

I was thinking the same thing, the side mount would be the way to go.

The top mount on the dust cover looks like it would move around to much.
    useless as you said.

I use a side mount on my converted Saiga. It allows me to quickly release the optics and use the iron sights to practice with both. It also keeps the AK rugged because in an emergency it allows you to quickly go back to irons.

I use a Bushnell Banner 1-4 scope and love it. It allows me to go upto 4x power for 100-200 yards shooting and lower to no magnification for close and quick shooting.
The reticle also has the crosshairs that meet at a circle and again is great for that fast shooting because it's so easy to see and aqiure a target through it but there is a second set of crosshairs inside this circle for accuracy at farther distances.
I got it on sale for about sixty dollars but can be found for about $75.

That sounds pretty much like what I'm looking for.
    Reasonable price also.

I just installed a bushnell scope on my .22 rifle last month
    got it for $50.00.

    Thanks,
