Is this implying that in order to be a weapon, it must be a threatening object? In order to be threatening, an active misuse of a tool must occur. Therefore since your firearm is a defensive tool, it can't possibly be a threatening object unless you're faced with a situation of necessity. In which case all is forgiven, according to the law, generally speaking.

In fact, they don't even wand at the Pens games downtown. I go to many Penguin games, and the most you will get is the world's laziest pat down at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock.
I wouldn't want to park my car several blocks from the arena and walk to and from it unarmed. My wife, 9 year old daughter and I went to the last Phil Flyers game together at Mellon arena, and I was not about to escort them unarmed past all of the beggers, scalpers, etc... I wouldn't take them if I was planning on leaving my gun in the car.
I also take her to some Penguin practices at Southpointe, and there are not detectors, wands or pat downs there. She loves getting an autograph or two as the players drive in to park their vehicles.
just take note that this post is regarding the penguins in pittsburgh while the OP was asking about baby-penguins in wilkes-barre.

Oh yea, I know... that's what my first sentence was referring to. I just added that I've never seen metal detectors at any of the Pens games or practices either.

gotcha. yeah, me neither. i make it to a few pens games each year. the pat down is a joke.
i really hate that, too. their "security" will do absolutely nothing at all to prevent a bad guy/madman from bringing a gun into a pens game. however, many law abiding citizens will not carry out of respect for the pens property rights and out of fear of being discovered and hassled/embarrassed.
if they are going to have any security at all, it has to be air tight so that joe thug cannot bring a gun into the event (or at least not without great difficulty). otherwise, there should not be any security at all. the in between stuff makes joe madman's goals much more attainable.

It's all about false sense of security my friend. As long as the sheeple "feel" safe, that's all that matters.

I completely agree. The security measures (or lack of) they have in place won't prevent a BG from bringing a gun to the game, so security is just for show.

Security is there for the good of the criminal and to suppress the defensive capabilities of law abiding citizens. Simple. I'll respect security as soon as they stand infront of me and mine and eat the bullets and/or fire back at a bad guy. Until then they can pound their mamas' gravy.

Re: CC at Wilkes-Barre Penguins games
Thanks all for the replies. I kind of figured it would be like ya'll said, but I'm taking my sister in law who is here from Europe to visit for a month to her first hockey game, and the last thing she needs is to see her brother in law getting hauled off in irons.
Now, hopefully they win Friday night :-)

I think this is the most important question: Are the actual owners of the arena, the "Luzerne County Convention Center Authority" (from the bottom of the page: http://mohegansunarenapa.com/") which I believe is a Luzerne County / government entity, pre-empted under section 6120 from restricting the carry of weapons?
