Applying for LTCF tomorrow...
Long time listener, first time caller...
So I'm going down to hand in my LTCF application and all tomorrow. I've been reading up so I pretty much know what to expect...
My question is this...
Is there a place nearby (within short walking distance) where I can get a money order and passport photo?
Thanks in advance!

I don't know what is close to you but you can get passport photos & money orders at AAA or the post office

Re: Applying for LTCF tomorrow...
Done and done! My biggest problem was getting the passport photo and money order taken care of...apparently the Walgreens and Broad and Vine is ONLY a pharmacy and nothing else....
Got the photo at Rite Aid at 10th and Market, got the money order from (of all places) K-Mart (they only charged like 52 cents...
The instructions and address is a bit misleading...990 Spring Garden's front door will take you to the Career Link office. A man who had obviously heard the question many times before sent me back around to the BACK of the building, the door at the parking lot, went up the elevator and followed the HUGE Gun Permit sign...
Signed the sheet, sat down, waited maybe 2 minutes for the interviewer (a detective?) who went through my info, asked about crimes, probation, drugs, tattoos, parking violations, etc...initialed and signed the sheet with the questions she asked, sat back down to wait 2 minutes to be fingerprinted, got the prints done on this fancy high tech machine, and I was on my way. No problems, surprisingly. Probably the best interaction I've ever had with city government, everyone was surprisingly pleasant and professional...

Tattoos and parking violations? Since when is that a disqualifier?

Re: Applying for LTCF tomorrow...
Agreed. Given the attitude of Philly toward permits, you'd think they'd be more of a pain in the ass.
There's a place at 2nd and Chestnut that does photos but he charges around $25.00 for two.
The neighborhood is a little dicey but you could say that about much of Philly.

Re: Applying for LTCF tomorrow...
Passport photos at Rite Aid are two for 7 dollars.
Now you will have to wait about 8 weeks to get a postcard in the mail. Thank God they do not emblazon the front of the LTCF with my SSN anymore, assholes.
BTW, the parking violations and demand for fingerprints are not in the statute. Thus, they are not legal for the Police Chief to demand.Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!
