Isn't every "weapon" an assault weapon?

    Unless it's the "Comfy Pillows"!

First off . . . What is an "Assault Weapon"?

Sounds to me like an anti-gunner's provocative term for any long arm with certain cosmetic features such as pistol grip and detachable magazine.

There are "Assault Rifles", which in strictly correct parlance usually pertains to selective fire versions of arms such as AK47 and AR15 as well as many others.

Words are powerful things. The left wingers have always been masterful at spinning terms and re-defining the language. We must try not to get caught in their terminology traps.

Last time I checked, Philadelphia still had an "assault-weapon" ban on the books. At least it shows up when you browse the city ordinances online.

It's totally illegal, but there it is.
