The Garand is hard on the spent casings. You don't need to swage any of the Greek surplus cases. Look for the 3 little "dents" around the primer, these don't need to be removed for reloading/repriming. For the Garand, I'd recommend the adjustable gas plug if you are going to handload. Choose a starting load, and open the plug all the way, close it a little at a time until your bolt operates normally (ejects the case and loads the next round). This procedure will protect your op rod from being damaged/bent.
The adjustable gas plug will also let you shoot custom "light" target loads that will save your cost on powder by about 40-50%

The standard mil load for the M2 cartridge:

    - 150gr FMJ
    - (50gr) IMR 4895

    2740fps @ 78 feet from muzzle

If you stay in the 4895 burn range, keep your bullet in the 150gr class, and keep your speed in the mid 2700s, your hand loads should be fine in the Garand.
