Man Defends himself gets charged with crime

I'm not saying whats right or wrong, but being a CCL holder and a daily carrier of a firearm, this worries me. Seeing this man on video defend himself from a crowd of 4-5 people attacking him, pulling out his firearm and discharging it, and being charged with a crime doesn't seem right to me. Just wondering what you all out there think of this.
