Savage 99 Question
I have a model 99 in .300 Savage. It is stamped "Model 99 Z" on it. I can't find ANYTHING on a Z model.
Does anyone know what this is? Thanks.

Re: Savage 99 Question
Have you tried entering your serial number on this site yet? http://www.savage99.com/savage99_dates.htm?inputbox=99z They may be able to help you out with at least a year of manufacture. You'll be able to go from there and may be able to find more.
I have a 99 in .303 Savage that was manufactured in 1926.

Re: Savage 99 Question
Give us some more info: Serial number (XX the last 2 or 3), barrel length, forend description (schnabel? takedown model?) where's the safety, on the tang or on the lever? Straight or curved lever?
Where is the Z stamped?
Thanks,
Dale
