    Default Compact 45 opinions

I'm looking for a compact 45 and would like to know your opinions on your choices.

I already have a Glock 30SF and am currently looking at a Sig P220R.

I'm pretty much open to all brands.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a Glock 36 and love it. A little narrower than the 30, with a +1 Mag. extension still holds 8 rnds.

I recently purchased a STI guardian for carry , It has a officers size frame and a 3.9 inch barrel. I've found it to be a good shooter, it is replacing my para 645 LDA( also a nice gun)but i like the slightly longer barrel and grip frame of the guardian.

I have the 220 carry, which has a shorter barrel than the regular 220. It is accurated and comfortable to shoot. Also have the para cco lda model, 3.5 in. barrel and full grip. Very accurate and reliable, also like the double action mode.

I am not comfortable shooting those that have small grips.

You may also want to look at either the colt or kimber commander style 1911's

i carry a kahr p45 and would recommend it to anyone for concealed carry. the p45 has been 100% reliable and has pretty decent accuracy out to about 15 yds or so. as small and light as the p45 is i found that recoil is more than managable which surprised me. the p45 is light enough to carry any time of year and i routinely carry it in the summer time with a IWB holster w/just a t-shirt covering it. in fact the p45 is so light at times i have to reach back and make sure it's still there.

the 30SF and sig 220r are great guns but compared to the kahr p45 they might as well be the size of a full size 1911.

Detonics Combat Master . . . the original and best small .45acp around

I also have a Taurus PT 745 Millinium Pro, the newest ones aren't bad at all, but still larger than the Detonics

I second the vote for the Kahr P45. Mine too was perfect since the day I got it. Compared to my Glock 27 the Kahr is much thinner and conceals much easier as well.
