Florida LTCF Training
Living in Carlisle, what is the most convenient way to get the training to meet Florida's requirement?
I've been hunting/shooting all of my life, but do not have any training certificates.
I travel to Delaware frequently, and Florida infrequently, but would like to be able to carry in both states.
Ultimately, I want to get involved in competitive tactical shooting, but for now, want to get the ball rolling on my Florida LTCF.

Have you completed (and have proof of) a PA Hunter's Safety course?

Re: Florida LTCF Training
Back when I was 12yrs old - 25yrs ago. Unfortunately, I do not have verification.
It sounds simple on the Florida information to complete training with an NRA Instructor, until I started looking for one locally with a schedule. It seems like all of the official courses are held in either Philly or Pittsburgh.
It seems like an easy requirement to meet, until I began trying to do so. If anyone knows of an NRA Instructor nearby, please let me know.

Shooter's Range in Chambersburg has classes on a semi-regular basis. A Basic Pistol course should be enough to fulfill FL's requirements.

$10 for a replacement card... or you can retake the free class again when they start them again.

Re: Florida LTCF Training
That is great information! I'm going to call Monday to see if they have my revords from 1984. If not, then I'll send in the affidavit to get a replacement.
It seems like a $10, quick solution, to get the ball rolling with Florida.

Re: Florida LTCF Training
Received my replacement Hunter Education Card today. At the bottom, it says, "Issued By Affidavit (see back)". Then, on the back it explains that it is a replacemrnt issued soley on information received from a sworn affidavit by me, etc.
Has anyone sent this to Florida? And have they accepted it? It seems as though the affidavit note would raise a red flag with them.
Also, I haven't received the fingerprint card I've requested from Florida. Is it something I can get locally?
