Default Just applied for my Chester Co. LTCF

Hey Everybody! I'm new here. I just applied for my LTCF yesterday, it was a smooth process, took maybe 10 minutes, the LEO behind the desk was polite and professional, it cost 46 dollars, should come in the mail in 30 days. I also got a free gun lock .
A quick question for you guys, I plan on getting a few lawyers numbers in my wallet just in case I have to defend myself. I'm a total noob to lawyer shopping, what should I say to them and what kind of questions should I ask?( i tried using the search button). I'm assuming I can just call around and I shouldn't have to pay anything. Also if anybody has any good pro-gun lawyer recommendations for chester county that would be awesome.
    -Thanks

I should think that your permit would arrive about 2 weeks sooner than they told you. Several of us from Chester county received our in 14 days.

I can't help ya on the lawyer front.

Congrats and welcome to the forums.

Any of you Chester County residents put a non-chester county resident down as a reference. I've got one friend in Chester, but having a tough time finding another. Most of my friends, at least my reliable ones, are in other counties - Berks and Montgomery. Anyone think this will tie up or even reject my application? Thoughts?

    Thanks

I put a non-Chester county resident on mine as well. On the Chester County Sheriff's website it says references "should be" chester county residents however on the actual application form all it specifies is that they not be family members. I think I read from someone on packing.org (when it was still up) that they don't enforce the "references must be from chester county" rule, I guess I'll find out in a few weeks

    congrats on the permit

now some things to ask an attorney..........

    1. do you do criminal defense work?

    2. do you specialize in gun cases?

    3. are you on call?

    4. what is your retainer?

    5. do you work with a bail bondsman?

    6. What is your hourly rate?

that should be a jump off point for you to narrow down your selection.

some things to do after the incident.

    1. call 911 asap he who calls first is the victim.

    2. secure the scene....lets not lose the bad guys weapon or any brass or other evidence.

    3. make shure you do not have your weapon in your hands

    4. try to identify any possible witnesses either by sight or name and address if the situation allows you to move from cover or concealment

    5. once the police arrive identify the bad guy as the offender and yourself as the victim. Reinforce that with "I am ready to file charges against him/her"

    6. compose yourself and give the officer a breif description of what happened. Let the officer know that you will co-operate fully and are willing to make a statement but will want to consult with your attorney.
