Default Can anyone give me a good Sig Sauer P250 review?

I'm looking into purchasing this weapon in June (in line with my 21st birthday, hooah) and I'm comparing the 250 to the 226.

Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated!

There is no comparision between the two. They are two different guns entirely. I owned the 250 for a while but I could not get used to it. Maybe it's just me but I like the d/a s/a of the 226 much better than the trigger on the 250. Needless to say, I sold the 250 but I still have my 226's.

    Thanks Rey,

How do you like the 226 as a daily carry firearm?

I feel that the 226 is a little to big for everyday carry. For that I would go with the 229 which is somewhat smaller.

I can vouch for the 229 as an excellent daily carry.

the 229 would be an excellent, versatile, all-around great first pistol. it's a great range gun and can also be concealed with a decent IWB (i use a Cross breed Quick Clip)

the 226 is a great duty-sized pistol, and would be a great "first" also

the 250 was designed to allow the user to switch out components, but the components aren't available, and there have been "teething" problems with the pistol.

i plan to buy a 250 "someday" but only after the price drops (further), the bugs are worked out, and components are available. i would not recommend it as a "first" pistol.

if you really want a polymer Sig, or can't afford a 229 or 226, i would recommend a Sig 2022, instead. this is closer to the classic Sig pistols but without the problems and unfulfilled promises of the 250

No comparison, The P226 is a far supeior weapon, as for everyday carry they are very comfortable with the proper holster, just like anything else you have to be 100% comfortable with your chossen pistol. I shot a P250 and was not impressed at all, and I love everything SIG. but the P250 is Junk, and I hope they fixed all the jamomatic and conversion problems, that were causing the firecontrol unit to not fit in the available frames.

I had a 250 for a while. It was the smoothest DA only trigger I have ever pulled, but I had to pull it, walk backwards a little, pull it some more, and then it would fire. No matter how hard I tried, it always shot low. I was a little exasperated with SIG Sauer too, in that they took FOREVER to get the components to market. So I sold it. Of course, my EDC is a P220. So don't ask me about size. Size matters. That's my theory.

Thanks for the helpful input folks.

Basically, I shot a P226 and I really really loved it - I mean, it fit my hands well, and I found it to be a very reliable firearm.

Assuming price is no object (6 months of saving to go)

What are the major differences between the 226 and 229? Merely size? Caliber? Functionability? Reliability?

    Thanks in advance!

Was planning on purchasing one myself. Read reviews on another gun site. Everything was rave reviews at first. But the more the 250 was fired, the more misfires and jams occured. There was even a ATF Request For Proposal review. ATF preferred S&W and Glock over the Sig. The 250 got bad ratings all around. Everyone seems to prefer the "Tried and true" Sig's. 250's are still too new.
