peg board for pistols
Does anyone know how to make a pegboard to hold pistols? I want to try to make one but am having a hard time finding pictures and/or designs. Let me know what might be a good idea and ill go from there. Was thinking about taking plywood and making holes every couple of inches on an angle to hold a few that I have.

Why not just buy regular pegboard at your local home-improvement store?

Pegboard is the fast answer. Just make sure you get rubber covered hooks. If you can't find them there are a few companies that make pint cans with the liquid rubber coating in them you can dip them in.

Someone had posted some pics of a safe door that someone had installed some thread pools on, to hold the pistols. This idea seems that it could work with you peg board idea.

Re: peg board for pistols
HD has some power tool hooks that would be perfect for handguns. They are rubber coated and mount right on the pegboard. Just got some for the garage yesterday.

You can get the heavy duty (like 1/4") pegboard at Lowes or Home Depot. I couldn't find any plastic coated hooks when I got mine, so I got some shrink wrap for wiring from the electrical dept. & put it on the hooks. Works good.

Re: peg board for pistols
You'll want tempered particle board & it's about 1/4". Be aware, there is particle board, then there's tempered particle board. You can get white, but most is dark brown. You can always get a can of spray paint.
Wood of the thickness you need for peg board hooks (1/4") wouldn't hold up very well.
If you really want wood, you can get a piece of furniture grade 3/8 or 1/2" plywood, bore holes for dowels or Shaker pegs where you want to hang your guns, then stain or finish it the way you want."It's hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong."
