Default Source for BULK Self Defense Ammo?

I'm looking to pick up some more modern self-defense ammunition, since the Hydra-Shok's I have really aren't the best expanding self-defense ammunition these days.

I also really need to run more of my choice of SD ammo through my gun more often, both for practice and ensuring that my gun will feed/cycle it reliably. I've literally only shot a few rounds of my carry ammo through my guns, pretty much just enough that I could still run a full magazine without buying anymore.

While I do appreciate that this kind of ammunition simply isn't going to be cheap no matter how you slice it, I wouldn't mind saving a little bit of money by buying in bulk. A higher quantity on hand would also make me more likely to practice/test my guns with carry ammo.

I've searched, but can't seem to find anything online. I'd figure that something like this would at least exist for .mil/leo which would buy larger quantities, but I've turned up nothing. Anyone have a source of SD ammo in larger than the typical 20rd individual boxes?

Depending on your "quantity", that sounds like something you might be able to negotiate with a distributor, rather than a retail outlet. However, I would bet that some of the retailers on this board or in the area would be happy to help out.

while leos do probably get a discount quantity, I doubt that anybody outside of LE could take part

military isnt allowed to use hp, afaik

and I highly doubt that outside of sponsorship, a manufacturer/distributer would be willing to negotiate with anyone not possessing a ffl for retail/ sales

I'm not sure how much you mean by bulk but there are auctions on Gunbroker.com for 500 round cases of Winchester Ranger T and Speer Gold Dot all the time.

I've been looking locally for some SD ammo and came up with the following at Grices in Clearfireld. Not exactly bulk, but better than 20 or 50 round boxes.....

    Speer GoldDot .40S&W 180gr $120 per 250...
    Speer Lawman .40S&W 165 gr FMJ $76 per 250...
    Speer GoldDot 38spl 135 gr HP $100 per 250..

Better then buying 50 rounds of WWB every other week at Wally world. Maybe i see a group buy in your future???
