Default Source for cheap .303 Brit ammo?

Does anyone know where to find surplus .303 anymore, or at least a good price on new stuff? I got some Prvi Partisan not long ago for $12.50/box but it seems like that's history now...

yeah man i asked the same queston a few times as well ...looks like we need to get into re-loading buddy....scavange used brass from trash cans...modify other cases to fit that kind of crap, last surplus ammo for the lee enfeild was made in the 50s(and its pakistani crap that has a lag period till the round goes off)

Scavenging is a skill everyone would be wise to learn....when the sh*t hits the fan youll actually be able to make due instead of going without

    thats all folks

Never even thought of Sportsman's Guide, thanks. They're out of the "cheaper" stuff too but at least it's another place to watch.

Yep. Looks like it's time to carve out bench space in the garage...

Ever since the Greek HXP became an example of the element "unobtainium" no good 0.303 has been available as surplus. I have been shooting Enfields since Army Cadet Corp days in high school in the UK (and that was over 55 years ago). In the US, reload, as the only person I know who has any of the good stuff tucked away is a British Army armourer who is rather well known for his books and knowledge.

The Privi Partizan brass is good, Remington is not, S&B is debatable. However, only neck size and once you have fired in a given rifle, segregate the fired rounds by rifle as the 0.303 head spaces on the rim and thus chamber dimensions vary. So a case from one rifle may or may not fit in another after reloading. If you full length resize, the brass is worked each time, whereas neck sizing only works a little of the brass. I have cases that have been reloaded at least 10 times that are still as good a new. Also, if you use loads that are mild, then the cases and the rifle will last. Remember the last 0.303's made were in the late 1960s in India (and I have one dated 1968). dave_n

I could also use about 1-2K rounds if I could ever find it cheap.

Awesome info, thanks a lot Dave. Looks like I'll stick with Prvi and stockpile brass until I'm set to reload.
