outline it with a sharpie. use a thin serated bread knife and cut on the inside of the sharpie marks. just make sure the knife is strait up and down and use short strokes. good luck with your next case.

nice. does it have the semi cut squares that pull apart easily and neatly? whats something like that run? ben thinking about getting one for a multiple scope setup but if their gun cases are priced like their camera cases they are a little out of my range atm

trace it with a sharpie. use a thin serated bread knife for carving. cut on the inside of your sharpie marks. use short strokes it cuts real easy and make sure you hold the knife strait up and down so you dont undercut. good luck with your next foam case.

ahh different than their camera cases. im sure the quality's the same tho. i've been wanting a couple of them to use with multiple scopes on quick release mounts.

one for ar15, red dot, 3-9x40, 8-32x44, and bipod

another for .308, bipod, 3-9x40, and fixed power 40x target scope.

congrats on the sweet case man

Very hot! I've got an M6A2 and love it. I'd love to get a pelican case like you've got for it! Too bad I'm spending my extra gun money on building an SBR M6A1 or A2 After I do that, maybe I'll get a case big enough for both guns

    VERY nice!

    Hey Guys,
I've done what ILUVMYBIGTOYS suggested. You do get better at it after a few. Then you have the multi layer jobs! That will drive you nuts.
I've used the Pick & Pluck foam inserts. Their okay, They do get a little funky after some use.
I'm working on a build right now. When I'm done, I'd would like to have a case for it.
So I hit the web, I'm sure someone had a better idea of a D.I.Y. why of doing it. I came up across something during a search.
So, I came back here to see what everyone else has done, and share something.

    www.casecad.com

I'm sure their might be others out their. This one seem cool, As well as their prices. Others will charge you an arm and a leg!!!

    1) Download their FREE Case Cad software.
    2) Choose a case from the drop down menu "Pelican is their Favorite line"
Or, Choose your own by entering the internal dimensions in the setup wizard.
    3) Design your own foam Insert. Play around with different shapes to fit your
    item or items.
    4) The CAD program will then spit out a file, That can be easily email back to them.
    5) You get a conformation email about the order. Pay for it. Then you'll get it in the mail!!

Here is a quote from their sit:
Unlike most other CAD packages, CaseCAD is quick to learn and easy to use. If you can answer simple questions presented by wizards, point and click, cut and paste, you're ready to start designing the interior for your case. Once you're done, you can order a custom-made insert from us for a very reasonable price. CaseCAD tells you how much your foam insert will cost and provides instructions for ordering its fabrication over the Internet.

Their website explains all of this and more. Check it out.
I like this, You designed it your self. You get what you want for bottom dollar. I could use this along with Surplus Cases, Commercial and Military.
I'd give you a better idea about it. But, I just download the software. I'm going to give it a go in a few.

Hope you like it, Enjoy. I know I will!
