Default Freaked out nurse at doctors office

Well today while at the doctors office they took my BP and wanted to do an EKG as well.

The RN and I go into the room.

Her:"You need to take off your shirt."
me:"ok...uhh. Just so I don't freak you out, I have a holstered pistol...."
Her: *odd look on her face* "WHAT?"
me:"I carry it everywhere so I'd figure I'd tell you so you dont freak out."
her:*laugh* Yeah if you didnt tell me it would have freaked me out...but DR ... will be interested. (my doctor carries as well).

my doctor comes in and laughed about it haha.

About to go in for the first time next week to my new Dr.

Got to get the old ticker BP down - runs in the family. I expect something like this might come up.

    Good luck!

I am starting a new BP med. Hope I like it, and can stay with it.

They only did an EKG because they asked me if I had chest discomfort and I said yeah.

You know, I never actually asked him if he carries on the job. I know he carries a Glock 27 though when not at work.

Sounds like you surprised the nurse, but it seems she was far from being freaked out. In fact, that she didn't decide to interject her own commentary on your carrying means she probably doesn't have a problem with it.

Because of my job, I need a physical every six months and a EKG on alternate physicals. I just carry my pistol in my jacket pocket and carry the jacket with me. No questions, no one knows so no one cares. Do as you see fit but my issue is why cause why cause a fuss when it is easily avoidable?
