Question What's it worth,,,,, LWT Colt Commander

Times have been a bit tough and I am thinking about selling off a couple of guns I no longer use,
Even though I love this gun, I never use it and feel that it has no collector value so I dont know where to price it.
It is a Colt Commander light weight series 80.
Here is what makes me really unsure where to price it.
    Highrise grip safety
    Hugue Alum grips,
    Night sights
And some grip tape on front of grip frame, There was bluing removed from that area, Plus you get a great grip for a carry firearm.
    Also has checkered back strap.
The fit and finish are fantastic,
The blue is worn off grip safety
This lightweight Commander has always been 100% reliable no matter how you shoot it.
    NOTE~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~~
I AM NOT POSTING AS AN AUCTION HERE OR EVEN TAKING OFFERS!!!!!!
I am strictly asking what do you think it's worth so I can decide if it is worth parting with...
Thank you for any imput you may have.
    Thanks
    Peter in PA.

Take it to a gun shop and ask how much they will give you for it,you know how much you paid for it,so about half the difference between the two would be a good starting point.
    Government 99 and 44/100 % pure bullshit.

The value of any commodity is what people are willing to pay for it. All of the improvements that you put on may add or even detract from the willingness of others to buy. If you look at gun broker and other auction sites you can get a pretty good idea what people are giving for similar firearms (note only sales count, one can ask whatever one wants, what another is willing to pay is the important number).

If you were to be able to get the gun into the hands of potential buyers that might help. Options would be while shooting it at the range, gun shows, matches, etc. You have a firearm that is very desirable to someone who wants that gun with those alterations, you need to let those people know it is available.

I really have no idea what I paid for it many years ago,
A gun shop is not where it would be going, I will get nothing for it and I would just hang on to it since I like the firearm.
I will Check on GB to see if any used/modified ones are on there.
Thanks for the imput thus far.
The shop near me charges 20% commission so it wont go there.
    Happy shooting.

    Peter:

Please search for LW COmmanders in the "Completed Auctions" and not simply the open auctions. In Completed Auctions, look at the prices on LW Commanders that actually sold. I just did that, and there are 11 pages of completed LW Commander auctions, showing mostly the same half-dozen or eight guns that the respective dealers are overly optimistic w.r.t. starting pricing and BIN pricing. Looking through the dozens of repeat auctions, there were a couple 70-Series LWCs that sold between $650 and $800. IMO, if you were to ask $700-$750, it should sell.

This is NOT an offer to buy; I already have a couple earlier LWCs in 9mm and 45 ACP.

    HTH, and best of luck,

    Noah
