LOGAN TOWNSHIP, BLAIR COUNTY - Police swarmed the Logan Valley Mall parking lot Saturday night after eyewitnesses called 9-1-1 saying they saw a male with a gun. It turned out it was a b-b gun. A juvenile male was arrested for the incident. A juvenile female was also taken into custody because police couldn't reach her parents. Police had to shut down Plank Road temporarily while they had the van stopped that the two were in.

Re: Police Swarm to Logan Valley Mall
After watching 24 hours of A Christmas Story, the police took it upon themselves to disarm Ralphie before he could shoot his eye out. They confiscated his offical Red Rider, carbine action, two hundred shot, range-model air rifle for his own safety, and at last word, were engraving an evidence number next to the compass in the stock.

Yea, what a bummer. And over a BB-Gun.
Guess it could have read. (THIS IS NOT A REAL STORY)
42 dead at Shopping Mall
Police swarmed the Logan Valley Mall parking lot Saturday night after eyewitnesses called 9-1-1 saying they saw a male with a gun, however because the police were lax in responding to the situation, as the dispatcher believed it to be only a lad with a BB-Gun most likely playing in the rear mall lot with a new Christmas Gift, 42 are now dead. The male perpetrator armed with what is believed to be a western style carbine rifle, had enough time to shoot down 42 people, most of which were women and children at the mall for after Christmas Sales. The man made his getaway via Plank Road, and is still on the loose. No further information is available at this time.

Re: Police Swarm to Logan Valley Mall
WTF? I've been to 4 malls over the holidays and I had my gun with me each time. Nobody closed as much as a soda machine for me. I'm starting to develop a complex here!

Re: Police Swarm to Logan Valley Mall
1. Read what I wrote. I said closed Plank Road. Have you ever been to Altoona? I live here. There is absolutely no reason to have to close Plank Road, if you were here and would see the setup, I'm sure you'd see what I'm talking about. I don't even think they closed Plank Road down when the damn mall burn down 15 years ago (or whenever it was). And why Plank? Why not the other surrounding roads? That doesn't even make any sense. I want to know why this was done.....seriously.
2. Most importantly, I'd love to hear the dispatch on this. Was it the typical MWAG call? Or was this kid running around with a BB gun rifle with true suspicious psychotic intent? I'm curious because I'm surprised, this is a big gun town. One of of the biggest sponsors in this town for.......................well, anything really, is East Coast Gun Sales. Their name is all over EVERYTHING. Billboards across towns, Curve Stadium, TV, Radio, Newspapers, local web sitse. Everyone owns guns here. Its a very rural area. However, for whatever stupid reason, people drive 60-70 miles up from Maryland to go shopping. They do this during the year, but in very small numbers. Now its Christmas, so the numbers are increased. I'm wandering if its one of those screwballs.
What I'm getting at is, I want the fully story. Like every other damn report, they report part of the story, then let it go, leaving all the details out and people jump to conclusions. Most people, like you, probably think nothing of what was done...but guess what, this is PA, OC is legal,...so why all the fuss? I want the full story.Last edited by Franky4Fingers; December 27th, 2009 at 02:50 PM.
