    Unhappy G-26 stovepipes

New member here..went to the range yest to help step-daughter practice for her CCW, & we had a box of IMI 'combat' JHPs 9mm awa some 9mm ball to shoot up...she had several stovepipe jams w the JHPs..I've never had this problem before w IMI ammo in my Glock 26 wh is well broken-in...(it's my usual CC gun) ..The gun was clean and all mags were Glock factory 10-rd mags. I wonder if it was possibly her holding it too loosely??? Thoughts?

    Limpwristing is a possibility.

+1 esp since you've never had this issue before, I'm assuming it's your G26 and she's borrowing it?

I've never had a stovepipe problem with my Glock that wasn't my fault.

Stove pipes and Glocks generally dont go together, i suspect limpwristing, Shoot it yourself and see what happens.

    Impossible.

Glocks are supposed to clear stovepipes, reload themselves and then make you dinner. Are you sure you don't have a fake?

    (probably limp wristing)

I found both triggers to be terrible to me so the triggers are on a scale to me.. The Glock was a crisper suck and the XD was a more mushy suck. They are in the same family, SR9 (heavy suck), Glock (crisp heavy suck), XD( lighter mushy suck), M&P(heavy mushy suck).

I have never had an issue with my 17 or 26. I let my wife shoot the 17 one day and it stove piped. I said to myself.. what did you do to my gun????!!!!!!

That is strange to hear. As others have asked "is it your Glock that has never had a problem until now". If so limp wristing is most likely the culprit. Try it again and see if you can make it run. Either way sorry to hear about the issues.

we "reoriented" her grip/arm position, etc and the problem went away..interesting tho for her as it was a learning experience. I've not had the problem w that particular gun before..nor w the Izzy ammo wh seems pretty hot loaded.

I've gotten my Glocks to stovepipe by shooting support-hand only (limpwristing ), and by shooting wimpy reloads.
