Looking for a starter.

I'm looking to expand my firearm collection with an AR-15 platform. Nothing extreme. Just something I can go out and work with. I've looked at DPMS 5.56 Sportical and I like the way it looks as a general plinker minus the railing on top. And I realize it doesn't have sights. I've taken care of for anything that doesn't come with sights. Any other suggestions in the $700-$800 range?

And I realize AKs are cheaper but I don't particulary like them and in the long run it would be more expensive. I've already got .223 reloading dies and .22 cal bullets because my father reloads .223 for one of his T/C contenders.

Buy a del-ton kit and a lower receiver. Like putting legos together.

Wow...it sure is. $625 for hand pick. That's hard to beat.

And who cares what you get....as long as it works. If you're anything like every other person I know with an AR platform, you'll be swapping things out to your liking in no time. Just need a working platform to start with.
