My pool shark days are ove now, but I still shoot a game every now and then. Back in my younger days, some buddies and I hung out at the pool hall in Latrobe every night. The owner taught use to shoot with an old broom handle. After hours and hours of practice, I could shoot well with it. After shooting broom, even the worst house cue stick seemed like a $1000 stick! LOL

I never did own a nice cue.

Yes, I shoot an occasional game. My cue is an autographed Schuler. It is a low end Schuler with no inlays but it is a beautiful piece of birdseye maple and since his passing his signed cues are appreciating. It doesn't make me play any better but at least it makes me look knowledgeable.

    No, it's not for sale.

An expensive cue won't make you a better shot, Any good stick will do. I've used sticks off the rack in a bar that were just fine. I've run the table with a bar stick that just had the tip super glued to the end of the wood, no spacer. I glued a tip on a broom handle and could shoot better than some people. Control and position are 2 things you have to master to win. This is from a guy with a 9' Brunswick in the basement.

Hey, thanks for posting that. I'm actually in the market for one. I just joined a league earlier this year and it's probably about time I get a decent one. One of the guys on my team insists that I get a Predator, or at least a Predator shaft for who's ever que I get. I'll check that site out.

Shooting pool, billiards or even snooker is a mind game coupled with good hand/eye coordination.

There is no better or best cue stick. Its personal preference.

An expensive cue stick is just that, expensive. Having an expensive stick does not make you a good or even a better player.

Become one with the game, understand its strategies, and practice. Shooting pool requires allot of patience. Its takes seconds to learn and years to master.

I've shot quite a few games in Sharky's in Latrobe and the AMS Club in South Greensburg... Used to play with the state troopers at the AMS...

    Good times...
