So tell me about Narvon PA
As the title says , lets here some skinny on Narvon PA! The wife and I will be going over to Lancaster County on Saturday to look at one house in Lititz and another in Narvon. The one in Narvon is a 3 bedroom Cape Cod style , with a two car detached garage and on 14 acres for $750 a month
Im REALLY hoping this isnt a bad place , out in the middle of nowhere , cause the price is more then reasonable and 14 acres means shooting on my own property . Looking on the map , it looks roughly half way between King of Prussia and Lancaster City. Is there anything out there or is it the boonies ? House is right off 322 and looks like Ehprata is only a straight shot up the road. Any gun clubs near by ? Lets hear it folks I need some input on this area.Si vis pacem, para bellum

It's a pretty quite area with lots of Amish....However, you're within easy driving of Lancaster which has a bit of everything and of course Philadelphia. Lots of buggies and farms...not a bad thing in my book. There are a ton of gun clubs around...Elverson Gun Club is right on Rt. 23 a few miles away. There's some world class fishing nearby on the Susquehanna River or the Flats of Chesapeake Bay. Job market here is fairly stable. Ephrata is a small town...not much to do there but is "touristy" with some good Bed & Breakfast places....if you're into bicycling, there are some nice clubs & some really, really great riding around (both MTB & road). I work in Elverson but commute from about 30 miles away. I'd move here in a heartbeat, but I have 3 kids that are in Middle School & there's no way I could convince my wife to move again.....
Best of luck!

I know a couple of people that live there, including relatives and close friends, so I get up there a lot. I have nothing bad to say about it. Its pretty rural. Its generally made up of honest salt of the earth types, although there are always exceptions. A few of them like to think that they are hillbilly backwoods types, but pay no mind to them (or join em if that's your thing). As far as it being in the middle of nowhere, it's not. some parts of it have a pretty rural feel, which in my opinion is a plus, but you can be in lancaster city, coatsville, downingtown, ephrata, lititz, and several other places in 40 minutes or less.

Hilly area. Lotsa Amish and Mennonites (I'm Mennonite). Great nearby parks. Lotsa gun clubs nearby, although most don't allow visitors (Elverson gun club does, which is why I'm a member there)...

Narvon itself is a pretty rural area. There isn't much out there. Plan on a trip to Ephrata for most of your grocery/daily living needs. I have a couple clients out there and most of it is "in the sticks." Actually, Morgantown is probably even closer, which puts you less than 20 mins from the turnpike as well.
Lititz is a great area. Much closer to town or in town, depending on where you live. I'm north of the airport and east of Lititz and it's nice here. Close to the farmland, we have buggies go by the neighborhood, but only 5 minutes or so from town/grocery stores.
If you need anyone to show you around Lititz or want to meet up for a welcome to the area, let me know. Lititz has a pretty nice "downtown" feel to it with some small business stores, coffee shops, and there's always Wilbur Chocolate.
If you want really rural, go with Narvon. If you want to be a little closer to things but in a small town, Lititz is a great place.
FYI, New Holland Rifle & Pistol Club is less than 4 miles away and they have a 600 yard rifle range. Not much at all, if anything for archery though and their indoor, at least the last time I was there, didn't have indoor pistol facilities.Last edited by jtkratzer; January 2nd, 2010 at 01:44 PM.

Re: So tell me about Narvon PA
We've lived in Narvon over 25 years and it is still a rural area which is why we moved here. When we first moved in, we could shoot on our own property (the people who lived here before us like to remind us that everyone used to hunt on the land we now own) But now the area is too built up in our neighborhood so we joined the New Holland Pistol and Rifle club which just a few miles from us. Unfortunately, after getting laid off 3 years ago and I only earn about half of my old pay now, we can't afford the higher fees the club has to charge (originally we paid around $30-35 when we first joined with no extra charge for guests, now it is $75 for one person with extra fees for bringing guests and $100 for a family membership a year.
I know there is a Beartown Sportsman club nearby and I was wondering it anyone knows what the membership would cost and how we could join.
