Default Re: !!! LRGC MEMBERS - URGENT VOTE JANUARY 7, 2010

    JD,

Three years ago when Freddy and I formed the practical rifle program at LRGC there was a very vocal group who did not want us, our type of shooting or the type of people we were attracting at LRGC. They labeled us and I quote, “thugs and gangsters.” Had they bothered to ask us who we are and what we did, they would have found out we are doctors, lawyers, IT professionals, graphic artists, police officers, business owners, electricians, contractors, active duty and reserve military enlisted and officers, engineers, scientists, and tradesmen. What we learned very quickly was, with this group, the truth didn’t matter.

During the January meeting of 2007, they went to great lengths to characterize our program and our members in the most derogatory manner. Some of their efforts are detailed over on AR15.com in the PA forum. Their attempts to impugn our reputation was perhaps the most cowardly and despicable thing I have ever bore witness too. And I’ve been around a while!

We overcame their efforts to shut us down and went about building a program that is nationally recognized. We are very proud of program and our members.

Sadly, the ringleader of the aforementioned group has resurfaced and now desires to be of all things a Board member. Should this occur, it will be very bad for our program. We are asking all our voting members to be sure to show up on the 7th and cast their ballot for Ron N. and Larry B. If you are not a voting member, we ask that you stand with us at the meeting in a show of solidarity. If you can’t make the meeting, consider an email of support of these two candidates. Emails can be sent to lastdefender@aol.com and titled LRGC Support.

    Thanks again,
    Gary

    Ah...Got it.
When i read "since at least 1/7/09" i assumed he meant "post-1/7/09."
I will definitely be there to support though. Because like -JD-, I was very much attracted to Practical Rifle. Hope it goes our way....

I'll be there too, although also not able to vote. This sort of Fudd shenanigans is my ongoing nightmare for this range.

If we can win this election, this will totally solidify our position there for the future. The can be absolutely no more BS elmer fudd attacks that have any chance of success. Even a 50% victory will be enough to prevent any nonsense.

BTT... The vote is tomorrow. Please be sure to be there by no later than 7:45pm. Also, you must have your membership card to be issued a ballot.

    See you all on Thursday.

I was there on saturday and I ran into Ron (I didn't catch his last name) and Andy B....really cool, down to earth guys (Andy let me use his AR, when he found out that I didn't have one yet). They also filled me in on some of the things that have been going on...
Again...I can't vote...but I'll be there to show my support!
