S&W Model 36, .38 Spl *price drop* $280
*SPF* Model 36 (no dash) Smith & Wesson Chief's Special, serial # J14xx69, .38 Special.
Price drop: $280 cash and buyer pays transfer fee.
Prefer FTF @ FFL in Chester, Lancaster, Berks, Montgomery.
Not particularly interested in shipping.
This revolver was made in 1969. While mechanically good, in one cylinder position, there's blue really worn off the the cylinder on both sides; I assume this was from holster wear of previous owner.
I measure the cylinder gap to be .004, where it takes a slight amount of force to get the thickness gage through. I can force a .005 gage through it. No way with .007. I provide this info in the post here since you may check out lock-up, etc. in person but I doubt you travel with thickness gages to check cylinder-barrel gap.
I've put 400 rounds through it without any issues. I've decided I'm not a snubnose fan even though my wife is, but she has her stainless 640. I carry the Glock anyway.
Included are the original grips which have the matching serial number, plus thicker new wood grips, and a Pachmayr grip for shooting comfort.Last edited by Enfielder; December 30th, 2009 at 05:35 PM. Reason: *SPF*
