Getting started in reloading, need advice

I would like to get started in reloading. I have been saving brass for years and would like to reload .45, .243, .30-06 and a few others.
Any adice or ideas on how to get started will be greatly appreciated.

I started reloading over 20 years ago and am still using the same RCBS single stage Jr. I purchased it as a starter kit, and added higher quality items as I went along. The kit came with a Getting Started book, that is written to easily understand. I didn't have anyone to work with, or to show me tips and tricks so I taught myself. Today I enjoy it as a hobby in itself.

Go slow and be methodical, watch what you are doing and be careful and you should have few problems.

First you should get The ABC's of Reloading. This is a very good general reloading book. Then pick up some manuals and read them. Nosler, Hornday and such.
Read as much as you can.
I started about a year ago and am self taught.
I used Cabela's points to buy the Lee Anniversery Kit and a couple of odds and ends.
I think this is a good setup to learn on. Single stage so that you actually have to think about each step that you are doing. It is not too expensive, in case you find that it is just not your cup of tea.
I load for .243 right now but am thinking about .30-06, .45 acp, and maybe .223.

i would agree w/ 1927a1

get a good high quality press to learn on like the rcbs, its a little more expensive, but its worth not having to buy it twice.and, if you dont like reloading, it will resale MUCH easier and the resale value will be much higher.

Koli01 mentioned a few good manuals to acquire and read. Sound advice and I would only add that you read the "How to reload" section of the manuals 2 or 3 times before you start the actual process. That way you'll be more apt to recognize a mis-step. And they will happen! Since the first step to real knowledge is recognizing when you've made a mistake, you want to reeach that step quickly. In 30+ years of reloading, I've resized my thumb, seated my index finger, had primers seat sideways and upside down, and used too much and not enough powder.

Don't hesitate to ask questions!
