The grim reaper is coming for my jeep tomorrow
Soooo, yesterday I was leaving Pittsburgh to go back to my mom's house in Ligonier to pack up all the stuff I had stored there and move into my new place in Pittsburgh, barely 300 meters into the trip...a lady in a 2007 Pontiac G6 runs a red light and t-boned me...the insurance adjuster is coming to see it tomorrow, but from the phone interviews I did with them they've already pretty much told me its gonna be totalled... I'll miss Chelsea the Cherokee.
Neither of us were injured...just a little sore today, and I feel kinda lucky because as you can see she caught me right on my driver's door..the floor is actually buckled a bit, and my seat tilts to the right. Ironically, the impact also busted the radiator, because as soon as I tried to drive it, it spit coolant all over my engine. The worst part was that because we weren't injured the Pittsburgh Police decided to take 2 hours to show up to the scene...I wanted a police report with the lady acknowledging to the officer that she ran the red light...so I waited nice and patiently. I know because it was a non-priority call, we'd have to wait a bit if the were busy...but the officer who eventually responded actually said to me "When the call came out on daylight no one wanted to pick it up, after I came on the shift change, I got it...The accident happened at 1:30pm and from what I understand the shift changes at 3 (thats what the tow truck guy told me). There is no was there was that full of a call load. 2 cruisers (one twice) rolled by us during our two hour wait, and completely ignored the fact that we were even there.Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty's teeth.- George Washington

sorry about the jeep from a fellow cherokee owner. One of the last true SUVs IMHO.

Why are women allowed to drive, is beyond my comprehension.

Re: The grim reaper is coming for my jeep tomorrow
I remember when my cherokee was totaled. That was a sad day indeed.
I didn't have any money saved up so my father in law gave me a great deal on a Grand Cherokee Limited. I should have been excited, it was an "upgrade" but it just was not the same. It was not fast and light, it didn't have simple and effective controls, and it didn't like to leave pavement. It's not a bad jeep and I put a lot of miles on it but no matter what I miss my cherokee.

axmdr40,
Damn glad you weren't hurt!
(we need you to hold targets at the group shoot!)
Really, I'm sad for the damage, but happy there were no injuries.
Joe Smith,
Every time I see that pic of your jeep on the hill, I can hear it crying out for someone to put it in neutral and give it a gentle push...
Damn these laws against assisted suicide!
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!
