Could NOT Care Less
A pet peeve of mine is the improper use of the English language (also known as Engrish). Particularly, I am bothered by the use of "I Could care less." The proper phrase is "I could not care less." Below I will explain why.
If one "Could Care Less" that indicates that an individual cares, and thus could possibly care a bit less about the topic at hand. Using the phrase "Could care less" is indicative of caring about something, thus not expressing the proper emotion of not caring for something.
If one "Could not care less" that indicates that since one does not care about something, it would not be possible to care any less thus the individual using the expression does not care.
If one is to debate the use of "magazine" or "clip" try using proper logical phrasing...Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!

Re: Could NOT Care Less
Ah, the good ol' malapropism discussion. There are a bunch that I have been noticing in everyday speech lately. These sayings have simply been victims of a game of "telephone" and the new versions make no sense.
The only one that I can think of right now is "for all intensive purposes." Is this saying that the more moderate purposes are not to be considered? The correct saying is "for all intents and purposes."

Re: Could NOT Care Less
I agree about caring less but for many people the point is mute.

A pet peeve of mine is people complaining about their pet peeves.
