    Default S&W model 1905 question

Just wondering if anyone call tell me the manfacture year and value of the following pistol. It is a Smith & Wesson M10 model 1905 38 special military and police, 6 shot double action revolver with SW trade mark stamped on the right side of the main body of the gun. It has the rounded grip with S&W trade mark inset into each side of the grip. The insets look to be bronze and are at the top of the grip and are a little smaller than a dime. It also has 6 patient dates on the right side of the barrel. The earliest being 1894 and the latest being 1909. The serial # is 0220. The picture attached is not the actual pistol but appears to be exactly the same. Thanks in advance.

sounds like a model of 1905-3rd change, but your listed serial number does not G-up.
it's only metal, we can out think it....

    What you have there is a .38 M&P 1st model of 1902.
The 1902 is the rounded grip, 1905 is the square butt.
Made from 1899 to 1902. I would guess with the serial 0220
    I would guess 1899
Barrel would be the same barrel as a model of 1905

all the 1905's were on either round or square butt frames.
only the '99s and '02s were round only frames.

Thanks for the info. The 0220 is stamped on the bottom of the grip and is very legible. It may not be a serial #, there is nothing else on the gun that appears to be a serial #. Thanks again.
